Top 10 Items In A Dancer's Bag

Most of a dancer’s daily routine is spent at rehearsals. Here is my top 10 list of things that I always carry in my bag as a ritual:

1. Wet Wipes

Dancing and sweat go hand in hand. And there is nothing better than wet wipes to end a long, rigorous rehearsal session. I recommend Johnson and Johnson Baby Wipes.

2. Granola Bars/ Banana

Yes, you will be exhausted and hungry after dancing for a long time. My thumb rule is to always have a banana in my bag, come what may. It is important to replenish your body during a workout, otherwise you will become weaker in the longer run.

3. Water

This might be the most overrated health tip but still the most underrated when it comes to following it in reality. I cannot stress enough the importance of drinking water. Dancer’s need to aim for at least 5 liters of water. The age old 3 liters of water is fine for people who have an office job

4. Extra Rubber Bands/Hair Clips

You can never guess when you need them.

5. Portable Speakers / Ipod or Laptop

This is very beneficial for people who take classes, especially in places where they use their own music, or even at conducting a rehearsal. I have the amazing chargeable speakers from Iball, which is extremely powerful.

6. Volini Spray

Injuries and sprains are normal for every dancer. And even if not that, sometimes one can get a muscle catch. Always carry a Volini spray or Moov spray in cases like this.

7. Extra Change of Clothes

You never know when you will need to go out to the next party. Most dancers spend most weekends in their rehearsal space, so a pair of clothes is mandatory.

8. Kohl and Lip Gloss

Easiest make up tools which is a perfect look with any outfit.

9. Extra Pair of Heels

Because you need to complete your party look post rehearsal.

10. Phone / Ipad Charger

Very important for everyone there. Either keep your charging wires with you or ensure you charge your phone enough the previous night.
